Hi, I’m Jason.
I’m just a guy with a day job trying to make good games that are affordable for your average teenager instead of pricing them out of the hobby. And maybe have a little fun along the way.
How I plan to do it…
When I was a kid, games, whether they were boardgames or RPG’s were the cheap escape. Granted it was the 80’s and 90’s and things were priced differently then. Games weren’t locked behind pay walls and you actually owned what you purchased. And even a pretty low income kid could usually come up with the cash they needed or could pool together to get a new game. Collections could cost quite a bit, but the basics, the basics were affordable and it fueled a lot of creativity. I’d like to get back to that, affordable basics that fuel a kid’s, or even an adult’s, creativity.
The Idea…
Solid basics that encourage players to create. Each game will have a simple easy to use rules that are setup purposefully for players to be able to expand the published theme or create their own easily.
The Plan…
Games, specifically Gameverse, will be built with templates that provide a basic framework for players to either add to the published materials, or be able to create their own that easily work with the rules. The rules are the least important part, creating new adventures, stories, and worlds are the goal.
So each month I will release new setting materials like locations or adventures, that while intended for a Gameverse specific setting, will be easily used in a new one created by players along with access to new blank Templates so that they can easily create more of their own.
Kind of like a modular build. Just use the parts you like, the framework won’t care.
